There is a crack in everything...

{...things on thursday}

I am about to throw a whole lot of random at you. And away we go...

...my insomnia is getting out of hand, and it is making my mood very, very dark. Pete was home Monday night, so I was able to get in a few hours of uninterrupted sleep thanks to Benedryl. On the nights that it is just PJ and I, I am hesitant to take anything, lest I be unable to wake if PJ needs me. So I run on little sleep and a lot of cranky these days. And coffee. God bless coffee.

...PJ still does not have a Halloween costume. We have chosen who he will dress as, but we still need to make that purchase. At this rate, he may go as a nudist (which, truthfully, wouldn't really be a stretch for him. Dude loves to be naked.). update: we just ran out and grabbed his costume!

...Speaking of PJ, we were at CHOP for speech therapy when he decided to throw a fit in the parking lot. If you're a parent, you know the fit- the flop on the floor and go limp fit. Of all the fits to throw, it is my least favorite, particularly since it's not all that safe for a small child to roll around on the ground in a parking lot. PJ can be hard to handle when these fits come forth, but with two hands it's manageable. But, I did not have two hands. I had one hand and a large iced coffee from Dunkin' Donuts, and I was not letting go of that coffee. We made it into the building and I drank that coffee, but it was no easy feat. No judgement.

...There are fruit flies in my kitchen. I would generally chalk it up to my questionable domestic skills, but I have been cleaning the kitchen like a psycho since I saw the first one. There's not a thing that gets left out anywhere, but they are still cruising my kitchen like demented little drones. If there weren't humans living here I would just napalm the shit out of it and call it a day. Fruit flies are assholes.

...I went for a consult for a tattoo a few nights ago! The artist I use, Megan at 12oz Studios, is so popular that she doesn't have an opening for me until the end of February, but it was fun to go in and talk about what I am looking for. I am going for a quote from my homeboy, Leonard Cohen. The dude can't sing, but they way he writes and how he crafts words speaks to me all the way down to my soul. So when I saw a verse from his song "Anthem" I knew it was exactly what I was looking for. And now, all I can think about is ink. Can. Not. Wait.

...I really, really want a Roomba.

I HATE fruit flies.

I think you won over the tantrum. Another iced coffee for you.

I've heard that Megan is great! In fact, my brother sent me there to look at her art. Maybe I'll get mine there too...
Can't wait to see it when you get yours.
